Molly Osborne - Egyptologist, Classicist, Museologist

First thing is, I had so much fun at the Atkinson today! I can't believe how many people came and enjoyed my activity. It honestly means so much to me. Over capacity in the Atkinson! So, I had 2 sessions - one at 1pm and one at 2pm. According to Atkinson staff, I had 31 people come to my first session and 38 to the second! A huge thank you to all who came! The first group were a little timid, but were enthusiastic to learn. I'm glad that those without children, stayed without joining in, and enjoyed learning about mummification in such a different way.  Enthusiastic girl in the first session The second group were crazily enthusiastic! Hello everyone, I will be doing a few activities at The Atkinson (Southport) in August.  Here is the timetable: Monday 31st July - Mummification Monday 14th August - Gallery Tours Tuesday 29th August - Tutankhamun Puppets I will be doing the activities at these times every session:  13.00-13.30 14.00-14.30 Keep an eye out for the tours I will be doing in September for the Heritage Open Days. As soon as these are arranged and published, I will be sending business cards and leaflets to schools, museums and societies, to showcase these activities and tours. Keep an eye out on this site! Welcome to my new blog! I have officially set up my freelance Egyptology work as an official business, and thought it would be more interesting and fun to set up a blog to show my work, rather than a website. I am Molly. I studied Egyptology and Classical Civilisation at Swansea University (BA Hons) from 2017 to 2020, and completed a Master's course at the University of Manchester in Art Gallery and Museum Studies (2020-2021). I have loved learning about ancient world from the age of 11, since I read the Rick Riordan books. In my 3rd year at Swansea University (2019) I work part-time in a museum in Merseyside and rediscovered my love for teaching Egyptology in a museum setting, both to children and adults. It started as gallery tours, then I became more confident and created a selection of activities, for both children and adults (we need some fun time too!)
